Grenada is a rolling, mountainous island, covered with fragrant spice trees and rare tropical flowers. Bordered by stunning beaches and dotted with picturesque towns, this verdant island has long been a major source of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and cocoa.
The capital of Grenada is St. George' is widely held to be the loveliest city in the Caribbean. Its horseshoe-shaped harbour is surrounded by pastel rainbow coloured dockside warehouses and the red-tiled roofs of traditional shops and homes. Set sail for sister island Carriacou with its beaches of fine sand and natural harbours and you are near the heart of the Grenadines.

Mr. Hartman Bay Marina is easily accessed through flights originating from the U.S. Only a 15-minute taxi ride from Port Salines International Airport, the Moorings 50-slip marina at our Secret Harbour Resort is one of the best in the Caribbean. Consider staying a few extra days here. February through September are the best months for a one-way sail through the unspoiled Grenadines to St. Lucia.

Diving
Colourful coral gardens and numerous wrecks invite snorkellers and divers from around the world. Many hotels offer scuba diving facilities and snorkelling equipment and there are a number of independent dive centers offering short boat dives, night dives and a variety of scuba courses. The Northern Islands and natural parks offer some groovy underwater haunts just waiting to be explored.

US Dollars is used. Major credit cards may be accepted in hotels, restaurants and some shops. There are many places throughout the sailing areas to exchange money from cash, Travellers Cheques and Major Credit Cards.

Grenada strong points
Grenada is one of the few Caribbean destinations where eco-tourism is a main attraction. A truly unforgettable rain forest journey is your reward at the Grand Etang National Park and Forest Preserve featuring a crater lake at the center. Grand Anse Beach is world famous, stretching for two miles. Anchor along the south-western tip to enjoy the serenity of Morne Rouge Bay. St. George's Harbour is surrounded by pastel rainbow coloured dockside buildings of the 18th century capital. From everywhere you hear the ringing tones of steel drums. While on Grenada, visit the bustling Market Square, historic forts, spice plantations and rum distilleries, and meet the friendly people of The Spice Island.
